Shawn and Courtney Garrison, Market on Main, stopped by class today to talk about owning a grocery store in a rural community and then the class got to visit the store. The Garrison’s took over ownership of the grocery store on the south side of the square in Carrollton in January 2023.

Courtney worked in the healthcare field prior to purchasing the store and Shawn owns his own construction business. Their focus is to provide a much needed service in the Carrollton community and to those who either can’t or don’t want to leave Carrollton to get their groceries.

They told the students there was a steep learning curve to taking over the grocery store and that they have been blessed with some amazing employees who have really helped them learn the ropes.
